The Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority has announced major road reconstruction.
The Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) recently announced plans for a significant road reconstruction project. The master sector dividing road from the Dwarka Motorway junction with Sector 86 Road to IMT Manesar will be reconstructed at a cost of 600 million. This road, which runs through Sectors 84/88, 85/89, 86/90, and 87/92, is currently in severe disrepair.
Flyover Construction at Dadi Sati Chowk
In addition to the road reconstruction project, the GMDA has announced the construction of a flyover at Dadi Sati Chowk in Sector 86. This project, estimated to cost?590 million, seeks to improve traffic flow and relieve congestion in the area.
According to Arun Dhankhar, GMDA’s chief engineer, the road will be rebuilt in the same way that Rampura Road was successfully rebuilt. The project’s tender has already been issued, and the contract is expected to be awarded next month. Eight companies have submitted bids for this significant infrastructure project.
The opening of the Dwarka Motorway has caused a significant increase in traffic in the Gurugram area. As a result, reconstructing this major road is critical to ensuring smoother commuting for residents, employees, and commuters passing through.
Special Road Repairs in Gururgam
Aside from the major road reconstruction project, the GMDA is planning special repairs on major roads throughout Gurugram. Tenders for these repairs will be awarded in the first week of August, with the goal of improving the overall road infrastructure in the city.
A tender for special repair has been issued to address the maintenance of service roads along master sector roads in Sectors 58–67. This project has a budget of?360 million and has received tender submissions from ten companies.
Infrastructure and Sport Facility Development
In an effort to improve recreational opportunities in the city, the GMDA has approved the construction of sports facilities on the green belt along National Highway 48 in Sector 15, Part 2. The proposed amenities include a mini-golf course, lawn tennis courts, and badminton courts. A budget of Rs. 55 million has been set aside for this project, indicating an increase in recreational opportunities for Gurugram residents and visitors.
Road improvement targets and future endeavours
Arun Dhankhar, Chief Engineer of GMDA, stated that the authority intends to complete all road repairs by the end of December this year. He emphasised that by carrying out these necessary repairs, the entire network of GMDA roads will be in excellent condition by next year. This commitment demonstrates the authority’s commitment to improving commuting conditions for Gurugram residents and furthering the development of the city’s infrastructure.
With numerous road development activities overseen by the GMDA, the city can expect improved connectivity and infrastructure, which will benefit both residents and businesses. The completion of major road reconstruction, flyover construction, and special repairs will improve accessibility in Gurugram, making it a more appealing investment destination in the coming years.
