Lajpat Nagar Metro is an interchange station for the Delhi Metro’s Violet and Pink lines in Delhi. Lajpat Nagar’s Violet Line runs between Jangpura and Moolchand. On October 3, 2010, the station opened with the first section of the Violet Line, just in time for the Commonwealth Games’ opening ceremony. It became an interchange station when the Pink Line opened on August 6, 2018. The station on the Pink Line is underground, while the Violet Line station is elevated. However, both lines are seamlessly connected, so commuters do not have to leave the ticketed area to transfer from one line to another.

Lajpat Nagar Market is a well-known shopping destination in Delhi, offering women’s clothing, artificial jewelry, footwear, household electronics, and home decor items. This market is within walking distance of the Lajpat Nagar metro station, and rickshaws can be easily hired for transportation back and forth. This market opens at 11:00 AM and closes at 8:00 PM.
